HOW DID THEY FIRST BECOME FRIENDS?
After years of a mutual friend telling both Tessa and Joe that they should connect (“I think you guys have a lot in common”), Tessa finally made the first move and invited Joe to coffee. (She’s a networker, he’s not.) This was on March 16, 2020… with the COVID-related stay at home order issued on March 18th. Switching from a coffee date to an awkward phone call, Tessa thought Joe was “nice”, but didn’t think anything more. Joe thought Tessa was “a tad aggressive” and moved on with his life and business. During the shutdown, Tessa reached out to the Oahu Wedding Association to offer her support and assistance and – surprise, surprise – reconnected with Joe, the OWA President!
They worked seamlessly together on the OWA board, and even co-authored a letter to the editor. A light bulb went off in their heads… our friend was right!
WHY ARE THEY DOING THIS?
While working together, Joe and Tessa quickly realized that they are simultaneously very similar, yet very different personalities. Joe calls himself the cool, calm and collected one, and Tessa refers to herself as the passionate one (definitely not the wild card). They are both skilled communicators, and realize that they love to share their thoughts and advice with anyone willing to listen. This podcast will give their listeners a first row seat into their informational (and often uncensored) conversations.

Tessa Gomes
Tessa, owner of Fred and Kate Events, is a die hard cake fan, and will always try to sneak a piece at every wedding she works. In addition to wedding planning, she is the current president of the Oahu Wedding Association, and Vice President of the Holy Nativity School Board. During her down time, she loves taking quick trips with her husband and daughter. Fun fact: Her company was named after her 2 grandmothers (WiniFRED and Katherine, aka KATE). Awwwwww.
Joseph Esser
Joe, owner of Joseph Esser Photo + Video is known for his playful style of photography. He loves having fun with his couples, making them smile, and capturing those intimate moments on their wedding day. Joe prides himself on his ability to make couples laugh and feel comfortable with him, creating genuinely happy photos. In his free time, he loves spending quality time with wife, daughter, and 3 huge dogs! His claim to fame… His great great grandfather is in the guiness book of world records for the world’s longest beard (17.5 feet long) – WOW!
